It's 28 degrees and snowing...

Can you feel that Spring energy ;)

We are a week into Spring and depending on where you live, you might not be feeling all that Spring represents- life beginning to emerge, new growth, blossoms, etc. Whether the natural world around you is reflecting this shift or not, we have entered into the season where energy begins to rise and there is a [re]birth.

Here are a couple tips to support or cultivate Spring in your life.

1. If you feel like the Spring energy has not sprung for you, here are a few breath techniques to help build up energy and fire. You can watch or listen to a short video on Complete Circular Breath and two variations of Surya Bhedan on youtube here or instagram here

2. Write out or revisit your intentions. This is the time to water and nurture what it is you want to grow in your life. An intention is a statement that is written in present tense as if it is true right now. I want to emphasize focusing on what you want [instead of what you don't want.] If you find yourself wanting to "release" or "let go" of something, I suggest you take a moment to imagine what it would be like if XYZ is released or let go and create an intention out of that.

3. Just start. Do it for 1 minute. Starting a fire takes much more work than keeping it going or rekindling the flames. Whether it's a daily walk, meditation, breathwork, catching up with friends, writing letters, cooking, convince yourself to do it for 5 minutes. James Clear says if you are trying to get in the habit of flossing your teeth, commit to flossing 3 teeth. And when you get going, you might end doing all the teeth or walking for 20 minutes or cooking an entire meal. And if you only do it for 1 minute, you are setting the energy and mentality of success for yourself! And then do it again.

4. Most importantly you are not alone in this world. Tell people what you are up to, what your dreams are, what direction you are heading. Gather energy, inspiration and momentum from around you. Maia Toll in Wild Wisdom says "When we inhale, we take in not just pure oxygen but pollen from the plants and the scent of our lover... Every Breath, every inhale, weaves us into the web of life... Take a second and honor Early Spring by remembering your breath for its incredible ability to connect you to the world... and notice how it also reconnects you to yourself."

Expanding on bullet number 4, I am using the people around me, that's YOU, to make something happen that I have postponed. For over a year, I have wanted to add more online classes to my website's free class library and with a large dose of procrastination and resistance, a new idea sparked. In April, I will be offering a few donation based short form classes via zoom. I will be recording the audio [so your video will not be recorded] and then I will create my online class videos from there. This means, if you can't make it live, you can find it later online.

Below are links to the classes and you can also find it on my website.
