The Magic of Manifesting
I was chatting with a friend about manifesting & how wild it has been to experience these thoughts turning into actualities in my life over the last year. Every time a desire transpires into reality, my belief & trust in it becomes stronger. Through that strengthening, the universe has started listening to the fine details & specificities of these manifestations.
As he was leaving, he remarked that maybe he should try some Yoga Nidra & manifesting. I yelled out "and you have to believe that you deserve it." He gave a little laugh filled with doubt that he deserves it, so I yelled "because you do deserve it."
It made me think how many of us don't believe we deserve what we want in life & once upon a time [& still on occasion], I was right there too. If you have tried manifesting & think it just never works for you or if you're interested & don't know where to start, here are a few tidbits to explore in no particular order.
Shift your mindset from scarcity to abundance
In my Healing with Spiritual Light course, Sandra Ingerman talks about manifesting & I jotted down this note: Western belief system believes that there is not enough. Manifesting from the belief that there’s not enough, we don’t deserve or that we’re taking too much. If we believe there is not enough, we begin to believe if someone else is successful there is no room for my own success, we might hoard instead of share & we limit what we think is possible. Begin shifting from "either or" to "and." And as Mike Dooley says, thoughts become things so if you believe you don't deserve it, you don't, if you don't think there is enough, there won't be.
Make sure it is something you really want
One of my favorite books to learn about manifestation is The Alchemist. Paulo Coelho talks about those seeking the treasure of their Personal Legend without actually wanting to live out the Personal Legend.
And on the contrary when you really want something, it’s because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. It’s your mission on earth... And when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it... there was a language in the world that everyone understood... it was the language of enthusiasm, of things accomplished with love and purpose, and as part of a search for something believed in and desired.
Believe, release, listen, repeat
Believe in yourself, if you don't believe in yourself, begin with the shifts that will help you believe in yourself. Remember all those toolkits about rewiring your brain. Believe the universe is out to support you. If you believe the world is out to get you, start looking for all [small or big] things that ARE going your way.
Release trying to figure out how it is going to manifest. Release expectations around how the manifestation will look or when it will happen. Could be a few weeks, could be a few years. If we allow ourselves to just believe or trust, we don't need to control it, so we can let it go & allow the path to unfold.
Listen to what the universe, your intuition, gut might be sharing with you & act on it. When we ignore what's being shared, there is an underlying belief that you don't really want what you are asking for & eventually the universe will stop creating for you. Listen [or I should say see] how these desires might be transpiring... & since we released our expectations on how exactly it will look, we might actually begin to realize that what we are asking for is showing up, just maybe a little different than we expected.
You will begin to notice that the more you practice this, the more it will appear. The momentum builds &, as I mentioned before, more specific manifestations will arise.
