Between Two Worlds
My poetry lies in love
It flourishes with the fluttering heart
Arises from the quiet of nature
Muffled by the walls around me
Robbed by mindless motion
Stifled by our civilized world
Expectations, obligations crush me slowly
I waver between the world of waking
And the daydreams that whisper louder
Luring me to a different place
One that can’t survive off money
And feels more real than realistic
At times they are left as simple fantasies
Or confusion being lost at sea
With no direction to guide me forward
And then I catch the slightest of glimmer
From the stars that fill the sky at night
And only appear in the darkest of places
It’s just enough to bring me back
And just enough to keep me there
So I walk in two worlds as I see in the dark
