16 min IBT Mountain Meditation

This meditation is from the Integral Breath Therapy [IBT] training with Carol Lampman.

Feel free to use the meditation however is appropriate for you- lying down comfortably or seated. If you are curious about practicing it with the circular breath technique from IBT, read the description below the audio.

This meditation was originally created to be practiced with the circular breathing technique from IBT which is:

  • inhaling and exhaling through the mouth

  • imagine the breath traveling up the base of the spine on the inhale and out the mouth down the front body on the exhale

  • eliminate the pauses at the top and bottom of the breath cycle, so that the inhale flows directly into the exhale and the exhale into inhale

  • Imagine the breath flowing as this big oval, up the spine, down the front body in a circular flow

  • the breath will be lengthened yet remain relaxed

  • if you find yourself pushing the breath out on the exhale, just relax effort letting the outbreath flow out slowly, naturally

  • this breathing technique is more activating to keep you more alert and connected during the meditation
